Soft Sandals

Are your favorite sandals old and worn? This pattern will help you cover the straps with soft cord so they are pretty and comfortable. Easy pattern, suitable for beginners.

Drawstring Purse

This is another older Macrame pattern I had tucked away. It features the use of two colors and has a drawstring closure. This handbag is easy enough for beginners to make.

Three Shades Purse

This handbag design looks great with 3 complimentary colors. I used Rust, Rose, and Navy Blue braided cord to make this purse many years ago. This Macrame project is suitable for beginners.

Western Belt

This pretty Macrame design features both Chevrons and Diamonds. It takes a while to make, but the end result is worth the time and effort.

Shopping Bag

This Macrame pattern is fairly easy, but it requires quite a bit of cord, since it is a large handbag. You can use this Macrame design to make a pet carrier or even a diaper bag.

Teardrop Purse

This is a complex Pattern, but it teaches important techniques such as adding cords, and creating symmetry. Possibly too challenging for beginners.

Vintage Collar Trim

This design, popular in the early 1900's, is used in this pattern as clothing decoration.

Ribbed Dog Collar (Revised March, 2009)

Have a pampered Pet? This pattern is practical as well as fashionable. Try making a matching bracelet or belt for yourself.

Picot Key Ring

This pattern can be made with scraps of cord and in several different shapes and sizes.

Vintage Shawl

Features both Buttonhole Scallops and Square Knot Buttons, which are not all that common. Time consuming, but easy to make.

Constructed with both Satin Ribbon and Macrame Cord. Easy pattern, suitable for a beginner.

Macrame for Home Décor

Basic Plant Hanger

This easy Macrame pattern is suitable for beginners. This plant hanger is unique in the fact that it is made from the bottom towards the top, and features decorative picots as part of the design.

Penguin

This little guy is not a toy, so he is listed here instead of with the other animals in Macrame for kids. I used soft yarn for the feathers when I created this original pattern. He has webbed feet, and a tail to help him stand upright. I broke the pattern up into sections, and it is suitable for beginnners.

Casserole Carrier

This unique project is a modified Macrame handbag. The top folds to enclose the dish. It can be lined to keep the heat in the bag.

Natural Feature Hanger

This simple hanger is designed to be used with a nice piece of driftwood or similar natural item. To embellish this basic design, simply add a few beads, artificial birds or vines, like the ones in the image.

Macrame Splendor

This beautiful Macrame Hanging Table features a finely brushed fringe at the top and bottom. The finished table measures 6 feet tall.
