Description: The Peach Delight Hanger is a very basic design, suitable for beginners. If you are looking for an easy Macramé project, this is a good choice. Only the classic decorative knots are used in this pattern. You can use any color cord, of course, but a light cream or peach color looks great. Yellow, light brown, or orange beads add a nice touch to this pretty plant hanger.

Step 1: Lay the 6-yard cords across the table vertically, after locating the center of them. Take your tape measure and find the area 2½ inches away from the center. Mark the spot with a piece of tape. Fold the 2-yard cord in half and place it under the long ones at the marked area. Make sure the cord is centered and secured with tape. Tie a sennit of Square Knots using the ends of the 2-yard strand as the working cords, and the long ones as the fillers. Stop when the design is 5 inches long. There should be 2.5 inches of knots on either side of the center.
Step 2: Slide the 2-inch ring onto the sennit, resting in the middle of it. Fold the sennit in half, bringing all the ends together below the ring.
Use a 1-yard cord to make a Wrapped Knot around ALL the others. Trim the ends of the short cords only, so they don’t show. This forms a neatly finished loop at the very top of the Peach Delight Hanger.
Step 3: Move down 4 inches. Attach all the strands to a 3-inch ring with Double Half Hitches. It works out better if you direct each the cords inside the ring before tying the knot.
Step 4: Divide the cords into 4 groups of 8 strands. Apply the 32mm beads onto ALL the cords in each of the groups. It'll be a tight squeeze to get them all in the hole. If necessary, use a piece of craft wire to pull each strand through the opening. The beads should rest approximately 1½ inch below the ring.
Attach all the strands to another 3-inch ring with DHH. It should rest 3 inches away from the first one. The beads should end up evenly spaced between the 2 rings. |

Step 5: Divide the cords into 4 groups of 8 again. Complete the following steps with each of the four groups to make the long sennits for the Peach Delight Hanger.
A: Tie 3 rows of Alternating Square Knots, using 2 working cords and 2 fillers per knot. The rows need to be spaced ½-inch apart. The first and third rows will have 2 knots, and the second row will have one.
B: Mentally number the cords 1 thru 8. Use cords 3 thru 6 and tie a sennit of Square Knots, measuring 1½ inch. Slide a 16mm bead onto the four cords. Tie a second SK sennit below the bead, also measuring 1½ inch, using the same strands. |
| |
C: Tie 5 rows of Alternating SK, spaced ½ inch apart. Use all the cords in the group for these knots.
D: Use cords 2 and 7 as the working cords. Cross them over cords 3 and 6, which will not be used for this step. Tie a sennit of SK, using cords 4 and 5 as the fillers. This chain of knots should measure 1½ inch.
E: Slide a 16mm bead onto the four cords used in the sennit. Then tie a 1½-inch sennit of square knots below the bead, using the same strands as the previous step.
F: Tie 5 rows of Alternating SK, spaced ½ inch apart. Use all the cords in the group for these knots.
G: Use cords 3 thru 6 and tie a sennit of Square Knots, measuring 1½ inch. Slide a 16mm bead onto the four cords. Tie a second SK sennit below the bead, measuring 1½ inch.
H: Tie 3 rows of ASK using all the cords. This completes the middle section of the Peach Delight Hanger. |

Step 6: Move down 5 ½ inches. Take 2 cords from one group and two from the next one over. Use these cords to tie a tight Square Knot.
Step 7: Place the pot in the cradle of the Peach Delight Hanger. Gather all the cords together at the bottom of it. They should come together in the center of the pot. Use a 1-yard cord to make a Wrapped knot around all the cords, so the top of it rests against the bottom of the pot. Apply glue to the entire knot and allow it to dry.
Step 8: Cut off the excess from the 1-yard cord. Trim the long cords so the ends are even. Apply glue to the tips to prevent unraveling. If you want a beaded fringe for the Peach Delight Hanger, apply small beads to the ends followed by a Barrel knot. |
