| Step 1:
For the first Dream Catcher Earring, cut 8 strands of cord,
18 inches in length. Prepare the ends before you start. Divide
them into two groups of 4 strands. Find the center of each
set, and secure them to your Project Board with tape or pins.
They should cross to form an “X”.
Step 2: Make a Lanyard Knot. Then lay
one of the hoops on top of the cords, so the knot is in
the center of it. Mount each strand to the hoop using Lark’s
Head knots. Attach beads to every other cord, so they rest
inside the ring.
Tip: If you can use hoops with separate
openings for the hooks, it will be easier. Otherwise, you
may need to attach the hook before you mount the strands
in step 2, depending on the type you’re using.
Step 3: You now need to add Lark’s
Head Knots to fill in the spaces between the mounted strands.
Add 2 additional knots between each of them.
Step 4: Direct the ends to the back of
the hoop. Collect them together at the bottom, just outside
the hoop. Make sure they line up with the hook. Secure them
with the Linen Stitch.
Step 5: Take the 2 strands you just used,
and attach a bead. It should be close to the bundle of cords.
Tie a tight Overhand knot, and cut the remainder off.
Step 6: Attach beads to the rest of the
ends, using 2 or more strands per bead. Make the Overhand
Knots so the beads rest at varying lengths. Apply glue to
secure the final knots.
Repeat steps 1 through 6 for the second earring.
