Step 1: Cut a piece of craft wire, 18 inches in length. Cut 1 cord, 2 yards long. Prepare the ends of the cord with glue, to prevent unraveling.
Step 2: Fold the wire in half. Attach the cord to the wire at the bend, with a Larks Head knot. The cord will be folded in half in the process.
Crimp the wire with your pliers so the cord cannot slide out. Bend the wire into a Candy Cane shape.
Step 3: Tie a Square Knot with the two ends of the cord, so the wires are the fillers. Push the SK close to the Larks Head knot.
Step 4: Slide a bead over the wires, so it rests next to the SK tied in the previous step. Tie another SK just below the bead.
Step 5: Repeat step 5 over and over, until you use up all the beads for the Beaded Candy Cane.
Step 7: Cut the wires at the bottom, so you have ½-inch left. Bend them towards the knots. You can direct them through one SK to hold them in place. Tie a final SK with no fillers. Make sure it’s tight. Apply glue and cut off the excess when it is completely dry. |
